Kampala’s turn of the century band. It has been the most significant band that undisputedly represented the Country for at least 15 years from 1990. The formation of the Afrigo Band has changed various times.
The band discovered major success also and especially during the 11+ years in which singer Rachel Magoola performed (1990-2002). Among their various hits, the Afrigo Band is easily identifiable with ‘Kasongo’, a song as joyful as the meaning of the word itself in Swahili: “joy and music for a good life”.
