Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to launch in India on March 3rd 2016

After a patent infringement suit filed by Ericsson, Xiaomi was barred from selling MediaTek powered devices in the country, and resultantly, there had been a lot of speculations about the India launch of the Redmi Note 3. The company, however unveiled a Snapdragon-powered variant of the device in China last month. Called the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, the device is now all set to launch in India. Xiaomi has scheduled an event for March 3rd, in New Delhi, India, where it will be launching the device for the Indian market officially.



To attend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 launch, users can apply for an invitation on Xiaomi’s MIUI Official Global Site. First 1,000 attendees will receive a goodie bag at the event. The registrations for the event start today, and are open till 2:30PM on February 25th.



To recap, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a metal unibody design, with a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. The phone gets a 5.5-inch FHD display, 16MP/5MP cameras and a 4,050mAh battery. Available in two RAM and storage variants, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 can be grabbed in either 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage configuration, or 3GB RAM and 32GB storage edition. The Snapdragon-powered variant of the phone gets its grunt from a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. The phone supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, along with the usual set of connectivity options. Priced at RMB 999 in China, the phone roughly costs about Rs 10,150.
