“The update brings new navigation gestures, message dictation, improved battery among other features”
Google has started rolling out Android Wear v1.4 update, which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow API level 23 for Android Wear-powered smartwatches. The update brings new navigation gestures, voice calling support for speaker-equipped smartwatches, message dictation, improved battery life and lots more.
As per the official change-log, the new navigation gestures will allow you to expand a card, bring up your applications, or get back to the home screen by a push lift or shake of the smartwatch. If your smartwatch has a speaker, you can now make and take calls over Bluetooth, and listen to audio or video messages with applications like Glide. You can use your voice to send messages from apps like Hangouts, Nextplus, Viber, WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram and more.
The Android Wear Marshmallow update also brings new languages support including Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Polish, Dutch, and Thai. The update will be rolled out to Android Wear smartwatches over the next few weeks over the air.
