Huawei introduces the Y6 Pro with 5-inch HD display and 4,000mAh battery

In October last year, Huawei unveiled the battery-centric Enjoy 5 in China. Now the company has introduced the Huawei Y6 Pro as the global variant of the Enjoy 5. The Y6 Pro comes as a successor to the last year’s Huawei Y6. The phone offers a premium metal frame with a textured back panel, which the company is calling a “water-ripple” design.




The Huawei Y6 Pro sports a 5-inch HD display, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite on top. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor, aided by 2GB of RAM. Storage capacity on board is 16GB, which can be further increased by a microSD card. For imaging, it gets a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash, and a 5MP secondary shooter. 

In terms of connectivity, the Y6 Pro offers dual-SIM slots, global 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS. The phone is fuelled by a beefy 4,000mAh battery, which as per the brand delivers up to 39 hours of talk time and 48 hours of heavy usage time. It can also last up to 24 hours with 10 percent of charge left thanks to the power saving technology.

The Huawei Y6 Pro comes in gold, white and grey variants. The company is yet to announce when the phone will go on sale globally. As for the pricing, the Enjoy 5 was launched in China for around Rs 10,500.
